The garden room is great especially if there is a sudden change in the weather when having a barbecue as it can be brought into the garden room and carried on even if it is raining. Well, that was always the theory. In practice bringing the barbecue inside just meant filling the room with smoke until no-one could breathe!
I like a barbecue though and I wasn’t going to let the idea of all-weather use pass by.
Enter, “the barbecue cupboard”. The cupboard is actually outside the garden room with the doors opening into the garden room. The crucial component though is the chimney fan mounted in the cupboard roof. This is a proper chimney fan produced to aid draft in actual chimneys. As such it is metal, heat proof, and moves a lot of air.
We had our first barbecue the other day and it worked a treat. The fan has six speed and on number three it took all the smoke from the babecue out through the roof. The garden room was completely clear. Result!
I think we’ll be having a barbecue on Christmas Day! Maybe not, we like our Cristmas Dinner with all the trimmings too much.
