Having spent a few weeks playing with the Creality Ender 3 Neo that I got from my son, I’m hooked on 3D printing.
So that’ll mean another new toy!!!
So here we are with my shiny new FlashForge AD5X.
As the eagle eyed might spot this is a four colour printer. It also prints faster than the Ender 3. I didn’t realise how much faster, oh my other flies!
Here it is printing a single colour print of a black cat (we have an all black cat called Pebbles).
I did the same print on the Ender 3 and it turns out the AD5X is around 4-5 times faster.
Next job, I needed to have a go at colour printing. I have been making and selling Puffin fridge magnets for a while. These are engraved and cut on my laser printer/cutter and then hand painted. Now that I have the colour 3D printer I thought these would be a good subject for my first venture into colour printing.
Here is a photo of the printer at work printing 30 of these at once.
Once these were done a small modification to the model and I printed 30 key chains.
I’m pretty happy with my new printer.
Of course with two printers I almost have a “print farm” so I might as well run them both at the same time! Photo at the head of the page.
